Here, under the leadership of Sr. Pranee, the Good Shepherd Sisters serve the marginalized people from nearly 200 villages in this eastern, rural, relatively poor agricultural region of Thailand. Currently, they operate a Scholarship Program that keeps more than 500 at-risk kids in school, a sewing center, and a large “farm”operating as a social enterprise to serve the local communities.
In addition, under the leadership of Antonia Symonds, they also operate a wonderful program called Hands of Hope. There, local people dealing with the challenges of HIV-AIDS, can receive the loving care they need, while also working collectively to support this home with a highly creative craft center augmented by expansive organic farming and animal and fish raising programs.
