We are Bill & Pat Taylor, a mostly retired Edmonds, WA couple that decided this is an appropriate time of our life to give something back to the Universe in return for the many blessings we’ve had in our life. And, we like to think of ourselves as something more than merely “checkbook donors.”
Bill is a long-time management consultant focusing his practice on human resources management, organization development, strategic planning, training, and related fields. Bill is a long-time Certified Management Consultant (CMC) and served as one of the three U. S. delegates to the founding sessions of the International Council of Management Consulting Institutes (ICMCI) held in Paris, France.
Pat is a homemaker, retired after many years working in the human resources and retail fields.
Our work began in Bali, Indonesia while on a vacation in 2005. Here is a piece that our local TV station ran about our work in Bali.
That work in Bali was the beginning. Here is a Jakarta Globe article published recently about our work there.
And here is a Global WA article published about our work.
We have expanded from there and are now quite active in Thailand where we are supporting projects in Bangkok, Rangsit, Pattaya, Chiang Rai, Maechan, Chiang Saen, and Chiang Mai.
We’re now very active in Cambodia and Myanmar also.
Who We Help
We help children — especially girls — break the intractable cycle of poverty into which they were born and from which they are not likely to escape without some outside assistance.
We do this by supporting orphanages and child care facilities that meet our criteria for assistance. In particular, this means:
- Committed, dedicated leadership clearly focused on educating the children
- Gender equality. Caring for at least 50% girls with an emphasis on the health, safety, and well-being of girls and women
- A demonstrable track record of meaningful success
- Fully open and transparent with their financial and operating records
- At least one leader who speaks sufficient English to work with us
- A keen interest in working towards sustainability
- Religiously inclusive
