The Hpa-an Education Foundation (HEF) is a group of about 30 local business men and women that have joined together to further the education opportunities for disadvantaged young people in their community. They do this by (in their words) “filling the gap” between what is needed in local schools and what is actually provided by the government. Often, this help takes the form of school uniforms, books, stationery, and related school supplies.
