Ms. Rothsophal Nguon (Sophal), Country Director – Cambodia, has been actively involved with youth volunteer programs both in Cambodia and abroad. Over the last decade and more she has made a positive impact for underprivileged children in rural areas, and also for city youth who have difficulty choosing education and career paths. She has collaborated with various charities, NGO* networks, and business groups. Inspired by her academic pursuits and life experiences, she is currently focused on social welfare and gender equity and advocacy research. She has served as Assistant Director for Paññāsāstra University of Cambodia, Siem Reap Campus (PUC-SR) since 2010, and continues to teach gender studies and business communication there. She co-founded the Australia-Pacific International School in Siem Reap, where she continues her involvement by focusing on improving the quality of primary education in Cambodia.
Nan Thu Zar Lwin (Treasure), Country Director – Myanmar. Treasure brings a wealth of local knowledge and important contacts for our work in Myanmar. She joined us in 2015 after receiving her MPH degree in Public Health from Thammasat University in Thailand, followed by an intensive leadership program in the U. S. Her employment experience includes work with Save The Children in Bangkok and Partners Asia in Myanmar. While still in university, Treasure founded her own nonprofit organization – Mee Eashin Development Foundation, dedicated to educating the children of migrants from Myanmar working in the Rangsit market area of Bangkok.
Rotary International. Various Rotary Clubs, especially in Thailand, are of invaluable benefit to our work by providing important contacts and introducing us to worthwhile projects in their localities. Having been an active Rotarian for more than 35 years, Bill is currently the chair of the International Service Committee for his club, the Edmonds Daybreakers and enjoys networking with other Rotary clubs during the course of his work.
